Who operates GuidedView
SyncedUp Solutions LLC operates GuidedView. This policy covers the native customer screen-sharing app and the invitation pages, helper portal, and session service used for native screen-sharing sessions. GuidedView also has a separate hosted-browser practice flow; that flow has different data handling and is not described by this native screen-sharing policy. For privacy questions or requests, email support@syncedupsolutions.com.
Information used to provide a session
- Helper account and invitation details: the helper’s account information, a customer label, the phone number or email address chosen for delivery, a one-use invitation, delivery status, and session times. Delivery contacts are stored encrypted with invitation history so the helper who created the invitation can identify its recipient and send a fresh link.
- Session and connection details: the device type, consent and sharing state, technical signaling needed to connect the participants, network addresses, and operational logs. A public invitation code may appear in website access logs. The private invitation token is sent in the original invitation message.
- Approximate location from hosting: our website host, Vercel, collects city and country derived from network addresses as described in its privacy notice. This is approximate location, not precise device location.
- Screen video: after the customer confirms the invitation and approves the device’s sharing prompt, GuidedView sends a video track of the selected screen or app to the designated helper. If a network relay is configured, it may carry encrypted screen media. GuidedView does not add microphone audio or a recording control to this native sharing session.
- Optional Android taps: in enabled test sessions, a customer can separately enable Android Accessibility permission and allow their helper to send individual taps. GuidedView processes the selected position, temporary permission and request identifiers, and gesture result to deliver each tap. The accessibility service does not retrieve window text or content. Taps can press visible buttons, including sensitive actions or on-screen keyboard keys.
- Diagnostics: the iPhone and iPad app may keep a small local log of fixed event names and times to help investigate sharing problems. It is not automatically sent to support; the customer may choose to copy and share it.
Screen sharing can reveal anything displayed in the selected screen or app, including sensitive information. Pause or stop before showing information you do not want the helper to see. Information already seen by another participant cannot be taken back.
Storage and retention
GuidedView’s native session service keeps active session state in its broker process. Its cleanup process removes ended session records from the broker’s active session store about 15 minutes after the session ends. Expired sessions are ended and then follow the same cleanup process. This does not guarantee erasure from process memory or delete copies held elsewhere.
Separate database records can keep the customer label, session and delivery identifiers, delivery channel and status, a protected reference to the invitation destination, session times and states, and limited lifecycle events. The broker’s 15-minute cleanup does not delete these records or helper session summaries. GuidedView has not set an automatic time-based deletion period for them.
For optional Android taps, the database records when permission is allowed or revoked. GuidedView does not persist individual tap coordinates or command payloads in its database or audit logs. Temporary permission and request state is held in memory for the active session; taps are not replayed after a connection loss.
Helper account records remain while the account is in use and until a deletion request is processed, subject to legal or security needs. Operational access and security logs may last longer than an individual session. Delivery providers and phone or email services retain invitation messages under their own policies; recipients may also keep messages on their devices. Local iPhone and iPad diagnostics remain on the device until the app replaces older entries or the app’s data is removed. Contact us to ask about a specific record or request deletion where applicable. We assess and fulfill those requests according to applicable law and the systems that hold the data.
Your choices and security
A customer can decline an invitation, withhold the device’s screen-sharing permission, pause sharing, or stop the session. The helper cannot start or resume capture on the customer’s device through GuidedView. Invitation links are time-limited and intended for one customer; do not forward them.
Sharing starts without tap permission. If optional Android taps are available, you can keep them off, select Stop agent taps, pause sharing, stop the session, or disable GuidedView in Android Accessibility settings. A new session or resumed connection needs your approval again. Stop taps before sensitive actions; a tap that has already been dispatched cannot be undone. iPhone, iPad, and desktop customer sessions do not provide this tap capability.
We use encrypted network connections, role-limited session access, and short-lived invitations and capabilities. No internet service can promise perfect security. If you believe an invitation was misdirected or a session was used unexpectedly, stop sharing and contact us.
Requests and changes
Signed-in helpers can permanently delete their account from the account deletion page. Deletion requires password re-entry and confirmation, ends active sessions, cancels GuidedView subscriptions tied to the account, and removes linked account records. Stripe may retain customer, invoice, or transaction records under its policies. For access or correction requests, or help with deletion, email support@syncedupsolutions.com. We may need to verify a request and may retain information where the law permits or requires. We will update this page when our practices materially change and show the effective date above.
