What is Zoho Assist?

Zoho Assist is a cloud remote support tool from Zoho Corporation. A technician starts a session, and the customer joins by link, email invitation, session ID or app, with no account of their own. Once connected, the technician can control a Windows, Mac or Linux computer and talk with the customer through built-in voice chat. Zoho sells two plan lines: Remote Support, for on-demand help while the customer is present, and Unattended Access, for computers the team reaches with no one there, priced per 25 unattended computers. Zoho Assist is inexpensive: Remote Support Standard starts at US$10 per technician per month billed annually, with monthly billing available, a free plan, and two concurrent sessions per technician. It integrates with Zendesk, ServiceNow, Freshservice, Freshdesk and Jira, and it covers less common platforms such as Raspberry Pi and other IoT devices. Zoho Assist is built for budget-conscious support and IT teams that want full remote control without a large contract.

Can Zoho Assist see an iPhone or Android screen?

Yes, on the Professional plan or higher. Mobile device support is not part of Remote Support Standard; it starts on Professional at US$15 per technician per month billed annually, or US$18 billed monthly (as of November 2026).

On iPhone and iPad, the customer installs the Zoho Assist Customer App from the App Store along with its add-on, then taps Start Broadcast. The technician can view but not control the screen; Zoho states that Apple does not support the ability to remotely control iOS devices yet.

On Android, the customer installs the same Customer App from Google Play plus a manufacturer add-on or Zoho's Universal Add-On, which needs Android 7 or higher and accessibility permission. With a compatible add-on, the technician can control the phone. Without one, the technician can only view the screen.

GuidedView includes iPhone, Android and computer sharing on its single $29.99 plan. On every device it is view-only: you watch while the customer taps and types.

What does the customer have to install?

For computer support, Zoho Assist requires a download. Windows customers join at join.zoho.com or through a link or email, then run a small file called ZA_Connect.exe; Mac and Linux customers use the Zoho Assist Quick Support plugin. The customer enters their name and the session ID or key, and no account is needed.

Zoho also sells Cobrowse by Zoho Assist, which lets you help someone inside web pages without a customer download. It covers web pages rather than the full screen, so it suits teams helping customers on their own website.

GuidedView shares the whole screen, or a chosen window, from a supported desktop browser with no download, so you can see whatever app or website is on the shared screen. On phones, the customer opens your text or email link in the free GuidedView app. More in screen sharing without downloading an app.

How does Zoho Assist pricing compare?

Zoho Assist costs less than GuidedView. Even Professional, the first plan with phone support, is US$18 per technician billed monthly, compared with $29.99 for GuidedView, and Zoho lists a free plan and a 15-day trial with no credit card required. Unattended Access is a separate plan line priced per 25 unattended computers, and Zoho also lists session-based and concurrent options.

So why pay more for GuidedView? Only if the narrower product fits better: customers share from a text or email link during your call, computers need no download, Pause hides private steps, and sessions are never recorded. If price decides it and your customers are comfortable running a small download, Zoho Assist is the better buy. See GuidedView pricing.

Which should you choose?

Choose Zoho Assist if

  • You want the lowest cost per technician, with monthly or annual billing
  • You need remote control of computers and supported Android devices
  • You want integrations with Zendesk, ServiceNow, Freshservice, Freshdesk or Jira
  • You need unattended access, or session recording on Enterprise
  • You support Linux, Raspberry Pi or other IoT devices

Choose GuidedView if

  • Your customers call you and you want them sharing from a text or email link
  • You want computer customers to share from the browser with no download
  • You want customers to pause before passwords, codes or payment details
  • You want one plan that includes iPhone, Android and computer viewing
  • You want view-only sessions that are never recorded

On price alone, Zoho Assist is hard to beat. GuidedView is the better fit when the support happens on a phone call and a short, private customer flow matters more than control.

Can you use Zoho Assist and GuidedView together?

Yes. A team can run Zoho Assist for computer fixes and unattended machines, and GuidedView for phone-call help when a customer is stuck on an app or a form on their phone. Because Zoho charges per technician and GuidedView per account, you can give GuidedView only to the people who take customer calls. Read how GuidedView works.

Questions

Does Zoho Assist support iPhone screen sharing?

Yes, on the Professional plan or higher. The customer installs the Zoho Assist Customer App and its add-on from the App Store and taps Start Broadcast. The technician can view the screen but cannot control it, because Zoho states that Apple does not support remote control of iOS devices.

Does Zoho Assist have monthly billing?

Yes. As of November 2026, Remote Support Standard is US$12 per technician per month billed monthly, or US$10 billed annually. Professional, which adds mobile device support, is US$18 monthly or US$15 annually. GuidedView is billed monthly only, at $29.99 per account.

Is Zoho Assist cheaper than GuidedView?

Yes. Every Zoho Assist Remote Support plan listed, through Enterprise, costs less per technician than GuidedView's $29.99 per month, and Zoho lists a free plan. GuidedView costs more because it is a different product: a phone-call screen sharing tool where customers share from a link and computers need no download.

Can Zoho Assist record sessions?

Yes, starting with the Remote Support Enterprise plan (and Unattended Access Professional). Admins choose automatic or manual recording in settings. GuidedView does not record or store screen video, so if you need recordings, Zoho Assist Enterprise is the better fit.

Does the customer need to download anything for Zoho Assist?

For full remote support, yes. Windows customers run ZA_Connect.exe, and Mac or Linux customers use the Quick Support plugin. Zoho's separate Cobrowse product works inside web pages without a download. With GuidedView, computer customers share from a supported browser with no download.
