What is ScreenConnect?

ScreenConnect is a remote support and remote access platform sold by ConnectWise and formerly known as ConnectWise Control. In an attended session, the person being helped goes to the business's ScreenConnect guest page, enters a session code, and runs a guest client on a Windows, Mac or Linux computer. The technician can then see the screen and take full keyboard and mouse control. ScreenConnect also installs unattended access agents, so IT staff can reach managed machines when nobody is sitting at them. Its Standard and Premium plans add session recording, built-in VoIP audio, guest apps for iPhone and Android, and IT tools such as Backstage, a remote command line and Wake-on-LAN, and Premium adds video auditing and a remote diagnostics toolkit. ScreenConnect is built for IT departments and managed service providers that support fleets of computers and need hands-on control, more than for a service rep who only needs a quick look at a customer's phone.

Can ScreenConnect see an iPhone or Android screen?

Yes, on the right plan. ScreenConnect's pricing page lists iOS and Android guest support on Standard and Premium, not on the entry One plan. On an iPhone, the customer installs the ScreenConnect app from the App Store and starts an iOS screen broadcast. ConnectWise's documentation says that, due to restrictions set by Apple, remotely controlling an iOS device is currently prohibited, so iPhone sessions are view-only.

Android is where ScreenConnect goes further. The customer installs the ConnectWise ScreenConnect app from Google Play and grants permissions, and the technician can take control on Samsung devices running Android 5 or later, or other brands running Android 7 or later. ConnectWise notes that some features may be unavailable because of manufacturer restrictions.

GuidedView covers the same phones with a narrower job. The customer opens your text or email invitation, the free GuidedView app opens, and once they confirm they are on a call with you and approve sharing, you see the screen live. On iPhone it uses Apple's screen broadcast, so Apple's own recording indicator appears. GuidedView is view-only on every device: the customer does the tapping while you talk them through it.

What does the customer have to install on a computer?

With ScreenConnect, the guest goes to the host's ScreenConnect web address, enters a code, and gets instructions for running the guest client. ConnectWise lists guest clients for Windows, macOS 12.7.1 or later, and Linux with Java. We did not find a browser-only screen sharing option in ScreenConnect's documentation.

What the customer does on a computer
StepGuidedViewScreenConnect
1Open the invitation link from a text or emailGo to the business's ScreenConnect guest page
2Confirm they are on a call with the sender, then choose ShareEnter the session code from the technician
3Pick the screen or window in the browser's sharing promptDownload and run the guest client
4Pause before private steps; Stop ends the sessionThe technician connects and can view or take control

For a computer, GuidedView runs in a supported desktop browser with no download, and the browser asks which screen or window to share. That matters most when the person on the other end is not technical or cannot install software on the computer they are using. ScreenConnect's download is the price of full control: once the guest client runs, the technician can operate the machine directly. See how GuidedView works for the full customer flow.

How does pricing compare?

Published prices as of November 2026
PlanPriceWhat it includes
GuidedView$29.99/month, billed monthlyOne plan per account: text and email invitations, live view on phone or computer, iPhone, Android and computer support
ScreenConnect One$30/month, billed annually only1 session, 10 unattended agents; no recording, VoIP, or iPhone and Android guests
ScreenConnect Standard$47/month billed annually, or $62 billed monthly, per concurrent technicianUp to 3 sessions per technician, unlimited unattended agents, recording, VoIP, iPhone and Android guests
ScreenConnect Premium$57/month billed annually, or $72 billed monthly, per concurrent technicianUp to 10 sessions per technician, video auditing, remote diagnostics toolkit
ScreenConnect EnterpriseQuote onlyCustom enterprise licensing

If your main need is seeing customers' phones, the fair comparison is ScreenConnect Standard, because One does not include phone guests. That is $47 a month per concurrent technician on an annual contract, or $62 month to month, against $29.99 a month for each GuidedView account with no annual commitment.

ScreenConnect's price buys much more than viewing, though: control, unattended agents, recording and IT tooling. If your team uses those, it is good value. GuidedView's pricing is one plan with every feature, and you can cancel anytime from the portal.

Which should you choose?

Choose ScreenConnect if

  • You need full keyboard and mouse control of Windows, Mac or Linux computers.
  • You manage devices unattended, when nobody is at the keyboard.
  • You want session recording or video auditing on file.
  • You rely on IT tools such as Backstage, a remote command line or Wake-on-LAN.
  • You need remote control of supported Android devices.

Choose GuidedView if

  • Most of your help happens on a phone call and you need to see the screen, not drive it.
  • Your customers use iPhones and Android phones as often as computers.
  • You want computer users to share from a browser with no download.
  • You prefer live-only sessions that are never recorded, with a Pause button the customer controls.
  • You want one monthly plan at $29.99 with no annual contract.

The two products solve different problems. ScreenConnect is an IT tool for operating and managing computers. GuidedView is a phone support tool for seeing what a customer sees while they do the steps themselves. Can you use ScreenConnect and GuidedView together?

Yes, and for many IT teams and MSPs that is the practical answer. Keep ScreenConnect for the computers you manage, where unattended agents and full control earn their keep. Add GuidedView for the calls where the problem is on someone's iPhone or Android phone, or where the caller is on a computer you do not manage and a download would slow things down.

GuidedView needs no SDK, agent deployment or server. Read more about GuidedView for managed service providers and IT help desks, or create an account and send your first invitation.

Questions

Can ScreenConnect control an iPhone?

No. ConnectWise's documentation says that, due to restrictions set by Apple, remotely controlling an iOS device is currently prohibited. An iPhone can share its screen with a ScreenConnect technician through the ScreenConnect app and an iOS screen broadcast on Standard and Premium plans, but the session is view-only. GuidedView is also view-only on iPhone, using Apple's screen broadcast through the free GuidedView app.

Does the ScreenConnect One plan support phones?

Not according to ScreenConnect's pricing page as of November 2026. The One plan, $30 a month billed annually, does not include iOS or Android guest support, session recording or VoIP audio, and it is limited to one session. Phone guests start on the Standard plan at $47 a month per concurrent technician billed annually, or $62 billed monthly.

Can GuidedView replace ScreenConnect for an MSP?

Not for managing computers. GuidedView is view-only by design, has no unattended access and does not record sessions, so it cannot do the remote administration work ScreenConnect does. What it adds is a quick, link-based view of a customer's iPhone, Android phone or computer during a call. It works best alongside a remote control tool rather than instead of one.

Does the customer need an account for either product?

No. ScreenConnect guests join from the host's guest page with a session code, and ConnectWise does not describe a guest sign-in. GuidedView customers do not create an account or sign up either: they open the invitation link, confirm they are on a call with the sender, and approve sharing. Only the GuidedView agent needs an account.
