What does GuidedView do for an insurance agency?
GuidedView is a screen-sharing app built for help over the phone, and insurance agents use it for the moments when a client says 'I don't see that button.' While the agent and client stay on their normal phone call, the agent sends an invitation by text message or email from the GuidedView portal. The client opens it on the device they are using: the free GuidedView app on an iPhone, iPad or Android phone, or a supported desktop browser with no download. After the client confirms they are on a call with the agent and approves sharing, the agent sees that screen live in a browser on a computer or phone. GuidedView is view-only, so the client types and taps everything, and the client can pause before entering payment or personal details. Sessions are live only and are not recorded, and each invitation link works once.
That covers much of the service work that fills an agency's day. A personal lines client who cannot find the ID card in the carrier's app, a new commercial client stuck on the second page of an online application, a renewal that needs a signature by Friday: each one goes faster when you can see the screen instead of asking the client to describe it.
Which insurance tasks can you walk a client through?
Because the client shares their whole screen rather than one website, you can follow them from the email app to the carrier's site to their banking app without switching tools. These are the tasks agents most often need to see.
| Task | Where clients get stuck | Private step to pause for |
|---|---|---|
| Carrier quote portal or online application | Vehicle and driver details, prior coverage questions, required fields that will not submit | Driver's license and Social Security numbers |
| E-signature email | Finding the email, opening the signing link, locating every signature and initial field | The signature itself, if the client prefers privacy |
| Client portal or carrier app account | Creating a login, matching the policy number, confirming the verification email | Choosing a password and entering verification codes |
| Digital ID cards | Finding the card in the app, then downloading or saving it on the phone | Usually none |
| Autopay or payment setup | Choosing the payment method and picking a draft date | Card or bank account numbers |
| Claim photos and documents | Uploading the right photos from the camera roll into the carrier's app | Scrolling through personal photos |
Ask the client to tap Pause before typing a password, a verification code or payment details, and to resume once that screen is done. While paused you see nothing, and only the client can resume.
What does a service call look like with GuidedView?
Here is a typical example. A homeowner calls because her mortgage company needs proof of insurance, and she cannot find the declarations page in her carrier's app.
- Stay on the call
You keep talking on the phone line you already use. GuidedView adds the screen, not a new meeting.
- Send the invitation
From the portal, enter her cell phone number and send a text invitation. She taps the link, and on her iPhone it opens the free GuidedView app.
- She approves sharing
She confirms she is on a call with you, taps Share and accepts Apple's screen broadcast prompt. Her screen appears in your browser.
- Guide by sight
You watch her open the carrier app and say 'tap Documents at the bottom, now the declarations page.' No more guessing which menu she is looking at.
- End the session
Once she has emailed the document to her lender, you end the session. She can also stop it at any time from her side.
Why not send a video meeting link instead?
Video meeting tools work well for scheduled coverage reviews, especially when a whole household joins from a computer. For quick service calls they add friction: the client has to join a meeting, find the share option and often move from the phone call to meeting audio. Plenty of clients calling about a policy are on a cell phone, which makes all of that harder.
GuidedView keeps the call you are already on and adds one link. The client never sees a meeting lobby, a camera or a chat window. If your agency already likes its meeting tool, our Zoom comparison explains where each one fits.
What stays private, and what is still your responsibility?
- The client approves first. Nothing appears until the client confirms who sent the invitation and chooses to share.
- View-only. You cannot tap, type or fill in fields for the client, which keeps answers and signatures in the client's own hands.
- Pause for private steps. Payment details, Social Security numbers and passwords can be entered while the screen is paused.
- No recordings. GuidedView does not record or store screen video, so it adds nothing to your document retention.
- One-time links. Each invitation works once, and unused invitations expire after 30 minutes.
GuidedView does not replace carrier rules, e-signature disclosures, your agency's call-recording practices or any licensing requirement. Confirm your own policies before adding screen sharing to client calls. See how GuidedView handles security for the technical details.
How does an agency get started?
There is no software to install on agency computers and nothing to add to your website. Agents sign in to send invitations, each GuidedView account is $29.99 a month, billed monthly, and clients use it free without signing up. Read how it works, check pricing, or create an account and send your first invitation on your next service call.
Questions
Do my clients need to download anything?
On an iPhone, iPad or Android phone, the client installs the free GuidedView app the first time they open an invitation. On a computer, the invitation opens in a supported desktop browser with no download. Clients never create an account or pay anything.
Can I fill out the application for the client?
No. GuidedView is view-only. You see the client's screen and talk them through each field, but the client does the typing, checking and signing. That keeps the answers and the signature clearly the client's own.
Does GuidedView record the session for my files?
No. Sessions are live only, and GuidedView does not record or store screen video. If your agency needs documentation of a service call, keep using your agency management system notes or your approved call recording.
Can I see the carrier's app, or only websites?
Anything on the shared screen. Because the client shares their device screen, you can see a carrier app, a carrier website, their email or their phone's settings. GuidedView does not need any connection to the carrier.
What if the client is calling from a landline?
That works. The client keeps talking on the landline and opens the email invitation on their computer, or the text invitation on a cell phone. GuidedView never replaces the call itself, so any phone line is fine.
Can I watch from my phone while out of the office?
Yes. You can watch a session in a modern browser on your phone or computer. Any combination works: client on a phone and agent on a computer, client on a computer and agent on a phone, or two phones.
