What is LogMeIn Rescue?

LogMeIn Rescue is an enterprise remote support platform from GoTo Group, Inc., built for IT help desks and customer care teams. Technicians work from a technician console and connect to a customer's computer or mobile device by PIN code, link or SMS. On a computer, the customer enters a 6-digit PIN at LogMeIn123.com and runs a small Rescue applet; on a phone, they use the Rescue+Mobile app. Rescue's strengths are the controls a large operation needs: session transfer between technicians, multi-agent collaboration, scripting, custom branding and Calling Card, detailed reporting and auditing, single sign-on with Active Directory sync, and forced session recording. It also supports unattended access. Add-ons extend it with translation and camera-based support through Live Lens. LogMeIn Rescue is built for organizations with many technicians and formal support processes, and it is sold through a sales conversation rather than a published price.

Can LogMeIn Rescue see an iPhone screen?

Yes, with the right license. The customer installs LogMeIn Rescue+Mobile from the App Store, enters the 6-digit PIN from the technician, and starts an iOS screen broadcast. The technician must have an active Rescue+Mobile add-on license, and LogMeIn notes that Advanced Remote Control is not available for iOS devices, so the technician views rather than controls.

On Android, Rescue+Mobile, installed from Google Play or a link from the technician, supports remote control on supported devices, with connection by SMS, PIN code, link or email. LogMeIn's pricing page says smartphone and tablet support, the SMS connection method and the in-app SDK are included only with the Mobile Support add-on.

GuidedView includes iPhone, iPad, Android and computer viewing in one plan, with no add-on. It is view-only everywhere, which on iPhone is the same as Rescue.

What does the customer have to do?

For a computer session by PIN, the customer goes to LogMeIn123.com, types the PIN the technician reads out, and downloads and runs the applet. On a phone, they install Rescue+Mobile and enter the PIN. Rescue's Instant Chat allows a two-way chat without a download, but screen viewing and control use the applet. Rescue Live Guide, a separate offering, handles cobrowsing of web pages with no download.

With GuidedView, the customer opens a text or email invitation, confirms they are on a call with you, and approves sharing. A computer shares from the browser with no download; a phone uses the free GuidedView app. Before entering a password, code or card number, the customer taps Pause, and you see nothing until they resume. Each invitation works once, and only the agent who sent it can view the session. See is GuidedView safe? for the customer's side of that flow.

Which is better if you must record support sessions?

LogMeIn Rescue. Admins can turn on forced screen recording so every Remote Control and Desktop Viewing session for a technician group is saved locally, to a network share, to an FTP or HTTP(S) location, or to the cloud. For care centers with recording policies, that is a core feature.

GuidedView does not record or store screen video; sessions are live only. That protects customers who are showing personal screens, but it means GuidedView cannot serve as a record of what happened. GuidedView does not replace your own recording, consent or compliance obligations, so confirm your policies before choosing either tool.

How does pricing compare?

As of November 2026, LogMeIn does not publish Rescue prices. Its pricing page shows a demo request for Remote Device Support and Contact Us for Rescue Enterprise, and support for phones and tablets is a Mobile Support add-on. Because Rescue is quote-only, ask LogMeIn for current pricing, including the add-on if you help people on their phones.

GuidedView publishes one price: $29.99 per account per month, billed monthly, cancel anytime from the portal. There is no add-on for phones and no sales call. For an enterprise care center, Rescue's reporting, administration and recording may justify a negotiated contract. For a small team, or a large one that only needs to see screens during calls, a published monthly price is simpler to approve. See GuidedView pricing.

Which should you choose?

Choose LogMeIn Rescue if

  • You run a large help desk or care center with many technicians
  • You need session transfer, multi-agent collaboration, scripting and detailed reporting
  • Your policies require forced session recording
  • You need single sign-on, Active Directory sync and custom-branded support channels
  • You want Android remote control and an in-app SDK through the Mobile Support add-on

Choose GuidedView if

  • You want a published monthly price with no quote, contract or add-ons
  • You need to see customers' phone screens during calls without an extra mobile license
  • You want computer customers to share from the browser with no applet
  • You want customers able to pause for passwords and payment details
  • You want live-only, view-only sessions

Rescue and GuidedView sit at opposite ends of remote support. Rescue is a platform an enterprise standardizes on; GuidedView is a single-purpose tool a team can start using as soon as it subscribes.

Can a care center use both?

Yes. A care center can keep Rescue for its technician desk, where agents control computers and rely on reporting and recording, and give GuidedView accounts to the people who handle quick phone-call questions, such as walking a caller through an app or a web form on their phone. Because each GuidedView account is billed monthly, it is easy to add for a single team. Read GuidedView for call centers or how GuidedView works.

Questions

How much does LogMeIn Rescue cost?

LogMeIn does not publish Rescue prices. As of November 2026, the pricing page offers a demo request for Remote Device Support and Contact Us for Rescue Enterprise, and support for phones and tablets is an add-on. Ask LogMeIn for a quote. GuidedView is $29.99 per account per month, billed monthly.

Can LogMeIn Rescue control an iPhone?

No. LogMeIn states that Advanced Remote Control is not available for iOS devices. With an active Rescue+Mobile add-on license, a technician can view an iPhone screen that the customer broadcasts from the Rescue+Mobile app after entering a 6-digit PIN. GuidedView is view-only on iPhone too.

What is LogMeIn123.com?

LogMeIn123.com is where a customer enters the 6-digit PIN a LogMeIn Rescue technician gives them to start a computer support session. The customer then downloads and runs the Rescue applet. GuidedView invitations arrive by text or email instead, so there is no PIN to read out.

Is LogMeIn Rescue the same as LogMeIn Resolve?

No. Both come from GoTo Group, but Rescue is an enterprise attended support platform sold by quote, while LogMeIn Resolve, formerly GoTo Resolve, combines remote support with RMM and helpdesk tools and is priced per endpoint. See the LogMeIn Resolve comparison.

Can a customer chat in LogMeIn Rescue without downloading anything?

Yes. Rescue's Instant Chat allows a two-way chat without a download, but screen viewing and remote control use the Rescue applet. With GuidedView, the conversation stays on your normal phone call while the customer shares from the browser or the free app.
